|Introducing Antonia Breen Grad. Dip. T; Dip. A.(mus/dra) Cert 1v (wta mus. theatre)
Antonia comes from a musical family and started in professional children's theatre at 12. After her Diploma of Music and Drama she was a freelance performer in bands, children's theatre, stage shows and anything that came up.? During this time she studied sacred music in Edinburgh but always performed jazz on the side. ? She taught music and drama for the Qld. Education Dept for 10 years and now teaches/directs at private studios around Brisbane and Lourdes Hill College where she has been happy for the last 6 years. Staging songs from musical theatre, working with professionals and running the Thomas Street Singers female ensemble is what she loves doing most.
She has worked with John Farnham, Marcia Hines Jon English and Ingrid james and her happiest performance was with Tommy Tycho and the Qld Symphony orchestra and in 2006 very much enjoyed singing with the St Lucia Orchestra.
Since 2004 she has worked as the vocal tutor for Queensland Theatre Company?s productions of ?We Were Dancing?, ?Venitian Twins?,?Puss in Boots? and ?The Caucasion Chalk Circle?.
She was the voice tutor for the full-time Performing Arts Course at Davidia Lind Dance Studio for five years and has been on the committee for the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing since 2004.
Jazz is her favorite style of music and she loves teaching.
