|Introducing Christine Prato B.Mus, B.Ed, A.Mus.A
Christine?s passion is music and she is delighted to teach the piano. A piano player for 20 yrs and music teacher for 10 years, Christine was trained in classical piano and has experience performing classical piano at concerts, keyboard in rock bands and piano at weddings and functions. An enthusaistic teacher who inspires students to reach their potential, Christine creates a relaxed and comfortable learning environment where students are encouraged to stretch their imagination. What ever the student?s goal to learn, for enjoyment or become a professional performer, Christine will do her utmost to support her students in the attainment of their goals.

Christine teaches students of all ages, ability levels and styles including classical, pop and rock. She prepares students for exams, if that is the path they choose. All lessons include theory, musicianship and aural training.A fully qualified and registered teacher, Christine holds a BMus, GradBEd (JCU) and AMusA in piano performance (AMEB). In 1999 Christine received 3rd place in the North Queensland Piano & Vocal Competition and was a piano soloist with the James Cook University Orchestra Concerto Festival. In 2003 Christine received 1st place in the North Queensland Festival of the Arts (Contralto/Mezzo Soprano Vocal Solo).
Beginning her musical career as a High School Music Teacher, Christine conducted the choir, vocal ensemble, band and stage band. In 2003, Christine received the Most Proficient Conductor Award at the Innisfail Eisteddfod. She played alto saxophone in the Atherton Hot Shots Big Band performing regularly at functions and festivals.
Christine is a dedicated singer and performs in Musical Theatre with credits including The Wiz, Les Miserables, Me and My Girl, Miss Saigon and RENT (repetiteur). She also plays guitar and enjoys song writing. In 2006-2007 Christine travelled and worked in the UK teaching music in London. Christine?s travel experience has expanded her appreciation and experience of music.
